CATHOLIC SCHOOL TUITION
Dear Aloha Airlines family,
My name is Sue Ferandin, wife of Capt. John Ferandin, and I share in your sadness today as we experience what we hoped would never happen, I would like to extend an offer to those of you that currently have your children enrolled in Catholic school here in Hawaii.
I am the Executive Director of the Augustine Educational Foundation. It is a scholarship program that provides tuition assistance for families that send their child(ren) to Catholic schools in grades K-12. I welcome any employee of AQ to go to our website at www.augustinefoundation.org and download an scholarship application. The deadline was March 20th to submit an application for the 2008-09 school year, but I have contacted the Bishop of Honolulu, Larry Silva, to offer an extension until this Friday, April 4th. The application must be postmarked by Friday in order to qualify for the extension offered. They need to send the application directly to me at:
Sue Ferandi, Executive Director
Augustine Educational Foundation
6301 Pali Highway Kaneohe, HI 96744
The best way for families to reach me is via email: aef(at)aloha.net or follow the link from the website.
Qualifying families will receive a minimum of $1,000 per student for grades K-8, and $1,250 for grades 9-12 for the 2008-09 school year.
I realize it’s not going to alleviate the burden of private school tuition, but it can help a little. Several of our Catholic schools offer various tuition assistance as well. I would encourage anyone that is currently enrolled to contact their school immediately to see if there are additional scholarship dollars available.
Aloha,
Sue Ferandin
